Freshman baptism is one of the most important and memorable events that allow students to feel the new stage of life.
At the christening of the freshmen organized by the student union of Klaipėda University, KU Fuxai: Kurortas’23 students felt like they were in a real resort. Such an atmosphere was created by Hawaiian decorations, various activities and games.
During the official part, the center of attention was the inspiring speech of KUSS president Aidas Čurovas, which aroused joy and energy in the hearts of freshmens. The Rector of Klaipėda University, Prof. Dr. Artūras Razbadauskas and heads of faculties and institutes.
After all the greetings, the freshmen divided into teams and undertook orientation tasks, exploring the campus of Klaipėda University. Despite the unfavorable weather conditions, the students completed all the tasks with enthusiasm and prepared to be actively involved in other outdoor activities. By dancing and participating in games, they showed that they are committed to building a strong and friendly community.
The main fux stop is a camping site in Latvia. After arriving at the camp, students actively participated in relay races.
After active activities, freshmen had the opportunity to learn more about university life: KU Alumni shared their experiences and memories.
The culmination of the camp was an evening orienteering game, which the students completed by following maps and solving various tasks at different points. After intensive activities, the evening ended with the baptism of freshmen, during which they officially became part of the Klaipėda University community.
This freshman camp not only helped freshmen integrate into university life, but also strengthened their relationships, created friendships and left extraordinary memories. It was not only an adventure, but also the beginning of an amazing year at university.
