This year’s Student October (“Studentiškas spalis”) flew by in the blink of an eye, but it left behind many warm memories, meaningful conversations, and new acquaintances. During this series of events, meetings were held where students could hear the stories of different people, find inspiration, and talk about topics relevant to growing personalities. Student October is a space for personal and community growth.
The first meeting was with young volunteers from “Caritas”. During the meeting, the volunteers welcomed the students with smiles, tea, and cookies. In a cozy atmosphere, they not only introduced the organization’s activities, but also shared their experiences, warm stories, and told how their volunteer journey began.
During the second meeting, students visited the cozy seaside café “Ateik Ateik”, where they had a conversation with its owner, entrepreneur, and coaching enthusiast Rimvydas Uselis. He not only shared the intricacies of his business creation journey, but also his thoughts on meaningful change and the determination to pursue dreams. The meeting took place in a cozy atmosphere, with hot drinks in hand, but the warmth came not from coffee or tea, but from sincere, witty conversation and open communication with the students. This evening inspired us to believe in ourselves and our ideas, even when the path seems unclear and doubts cloud our minds.
In mid-October, students had the opportunity to return to the “Ateik Ateik” café for another conversation, this time with historian and founder of the “ResPublica” coffee studio Audrius Cibauskas. The evening was filled with stories about the founding of the coffee studio, youth initiatives, their support, the importance of community, and life lessons. The aroma of coffee and sincere, open conversations made the evening inspiring and full of positive energy. Everyone left with not only unique impressions, but also new thoughts about growth, community, and youthful ambitions.
The series of student events in October ended with a pleasant evening, during which students gathered to watch the movie “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” It was a great way to sum up the entire student October—to relax, laugh, and share impressions.
Student October showed once again that inspiration lies right here – in people, conversations, experiences, and community. This month was a reminder that growth happens when we share, listen, and dare to move forward.
