Candidate for the position of President of the Klaipėda University Students’ Union (KUSS).
As the KUSS yearly report and election conference approaches, Dovydas Varanavičius – a third-year student at the Faculty of Marine Technologies and Natural Sciences – expressed his desire to serve as President of KUSS. Dovydas joined KUSS in his first year of studies. He soon became the coordinator of organizational affairs. “During those years, I understood what it means to look for solutions “on the spot” and felt what it means to coordinate a large group of people. I gained leadership experience, learned to give and accept criticism better and, most importantly, developed my ability to express my opinion very well.”
This term, the candidate became the vice-president of KUSS. “Over the year, I realized that I care about all this more than I thought, I realized how important it is for me to bring the voice of students to places where it is possible to change something, I realized how important the team microclimate is, I realized what it means to see all this from within the organization and the Presidium.”
Well, in preparing to become president, Dovydas has one important goal “to leave this organization stronger at the end of the term than at the beginning.”
About the conference
We remind you that on March 7 of this year, at 11:00 a.m., the KUSS reporting and election conference will be held in auditorium 314 of the KU Faculty of Marine Technologies and Natural Sciences (Herkaus Manto g. 84), during which the KUSS annual and financial reports, the KUSS Council’s annual activity report and the Audit Commission’s reports will be presented. The new KUSS President and members of the Audit Commission will also be elected. So we invite you to come and participate in our celebration of democracy!
